Hay for Cedar

Now that we’ve separated Cedar and Montana (our two quarter horses) into separate paddocks, Cedar no longer has access to the hay feeders and the round bales. So we picked up some 1st cutting double-sized square bales for him. The challenge now is to figure out how to store the hay, as we have no hay storage building.

We decided to do something similar to the square bales for Montana, which is stack and tarp the bales. We again passed on pallets and used cinder blocks and 2×8 boards.

In order to tie the tarp down, Elizabeth screwed in pvc pipe holders on the sides of the boards.

Here’s the final stack, though not yet tarped.
